Cruisebees
/ Transitions Overseas / Funkycareers
"Hey
There. I am writing in the hope that you could publish
a warning.
I
am looking for cruise ship work at the moment and came
across a company called Transitions Overseas (www.cruisebees.com)
or there partner company Funkycareers.com. I decided to
take a chance and order a book containing contact details
for not only cruise ship companies and their recruitement
agents, but also other addresses for voluntary work etc.
This in it self was a dumb idea and it was confirmed when
I received a 20pg booklet containing nothing that I did
not know allready. Ok, I thought, stupid move, you live
you learn. However, my credit card got charged for another
£30 2 weeks later.
Not
surprisingly did they give a bogus phone number on their
site but when I started looking into the company things
just looked dodgy to say the least. I eventually got a
hold of someone at the company who told me that I was
not going to get all my money refunded since I subscribed
to a newsletter which they initially said would be free
as an extra to ordering the booklet. They off course blamed
me saying that I overlooked the details in a separate
leaflet, which off course I did not receive and I have
a strong feeling don't even exist. I was unable to get
any managers name or speak to anybody else at this company.
So
I write to you in the hope that you could warn other eager
travellers to stay away from this company. I suppose I
am asking much but please let's stop these people who
make what should be an exciting experience an awful one
that puts you off travelling all together.
Kind regards
Elizebeth Croeser"
