Aktion Sühnezeichen Friedensdienste - A German peace and volunteer service organisation founded in the aftermath of World War II to confront the legacy of the Nazi regime. Their mission is accomplished through long term and short term volunteer programs. In the Czech Republic volunteers work at the memorial site of Theresienstadt (Terezín), they visit the elderly of the Jewish community in Brno, Ostrava, Olomouc and Prague, they support Czech refugees and give help to initiatives of the Roma minority.
American Jewish Joint Distribution Commitee - A Jewish humanitarian assistance organisation that provides assistance to Jewish communities in several eastern European countries. As part of the year long Jewish Service Corps volunteers will work to promote Jewish identity and community development by organising and guiding others in Jewish educational, cultural, social, and religious programmes. Volunteers should have a strong Jewish background and a passion for transmitting it, as well as experience in formal/informal education or social welfare.
Armenian Volunteer Corps - Open to diasporan Armenians from any part of the world, who posses the motivation and ability to volunteer themselves, their time and their talents to Armenia for a long or short service term (minimum of 1 month), and are above the age of 21. Past volunteers have ranged from the ages of 21 to 72. There are no language requirements.
Azerbaijan Society for the Protection of Animals - A local organisation, based in Baku, that states that it is constantly in need of volunteers.

Balkan Sunflowers - An international grassroots organisation, founded in 1999 to aid the Kosovar refugees, Balkan Sunflowers runs a summer camp between June and August.

Cross-Cultural Solutions - Volunteer programs, ranging from one week to six months, in Eastern Europe. These programs allow you to work with dynamic grass-roots organisations while immersing yourself in the local culture. Volunteers typically work in the areas of education, health care and community development.
DAD International - DAD provides summer and winter activity and learning programmes in Romania. Volunteers are required to help teach English to Romanian children aged eight to 18.
Eko Centar Caput Insulae Beli - A local Croatian organisation that concentrates its efforts to protecting the Eurasian Giffon Vulture. In addition to the volunteer programme ECCIB also runs an ecotourism programme.
EstYES International Youth Association - An Estonian organisation, EstYES run workcamps with the aim of supporting local development and take place in small villages, close knit communities, in the countryside, or in urban areas. A contribution of around €65 is required to cover administration costs and food and accommodation at the project.
Exit Festival - Held near Novi Sad, Serbia, in July, a free ticket is offered to volunteers willing to work as stewards, bar staff and security during the four day festival. Details for volunteers are usually provided on their website around March.
Global Volunteer Network - A non profit organisation. GVN place people in community projects in Romania. Volunteers have the opportunity to participate in a variety of educational and community aid programs. Volunteers can be involved in areas such as teaching English, environmental work, health and sanitation, and cultural home stays.

Jahoda - Volunteers are welcome to assist this local non profit organisation which gives a hand to endangered children and families in the Czech Republic.
KMC International Workcamps - Join ten to 20 other volunteers from many different countries to work on a service project in the Czech Republic which benefits a local community. A contribution to food and accommodation costs is required. Projects include gardening and castle renovations.
Magic Carpet - A US organisation that works with children and their caregivers in Azerbaijan to help realise their potential. Volunteers mostly come from the American Azeri diaspora providing input on translations, training materials and mentoring programmes.
Mast International - US based organisation. Voluntary work in various countries, mostly Europe, in agriculture, horticulture and forestry.
Peace Brigades International - PBI has branches in 15 countries and recruits volunteers to act as international observers and to accompany local human rights activists in conflict areas. They began working in Guatemala in 1983 and have run projects in El Salvador and Sri Lanka. Currently, PBI are operating in Columbia, Indonesia, West Timor, Haiti, Mexico and the Balkans.
Project Volunteer.cz - The English version of Dobrovolnik.cz (volunteer in Czech) that aims to help non Czech users find volunteer work in the Czech Republic.
Rolnicka - Volunteers are accepted at this Christian care centre providing social, educational, therapeutic, working and rehabilitative services for both children and adults with different levels of disability, as well as to their families in the Tabor region of the Czech Republic, and especially from the area surrounding the town of Sobeslav.

SV Agency - Travel agency run by six young Russians. They can arrange teaching experience in a school in Izhevsk, Russia, in exchange for room and board.

Travellers Inn Hostel Krakow - Describing themselves as a small and cozy hostel in Krakow, they say they dont employ many people but do occasionally have some vacancies.
United Aid for Azerbaijan - UAFA was founded in 1998 with a mission to aid long term development of life in Azerbaijan, with a particular focus on children, health and education. Volunteers can contribute their skills and time to any of their projects. UAFA state that enthusiasm and patience are amongst the greatest skills needed when working with disadvantaged children.
WWOOF Bulgaria - Part of the WWOOF network that helps volunteers to work on organic farms.
WWOOF Czech Republic - The Czech branch of the organic farm movement can assist those that wish to experience working on an organic farm in the Czech Republic for a small fee.
WWOOF Moldova - At the time of writing there was only one organic farm in Moldova but working there seems a good way of finding out more about this little visited country.
WWOOF Romania - A large and rural country, WWOOF presents a good way to explore Romania by volunteering on organic farms.
WWOOF Slovenia - The Slovene branch of the organic farming movement doesn't have a website and only a small number of farms but some information can be found on the international WWOOF website.
