Changing Worlds
Three placements are offered in Latvia, either working in a kindergarten where children are taught in the Waldorf method of teaching, helping students to practice their English in a small language school, or a position as a support worker in social care centres working with children and young adults. An Estonian organisation, EstYES run workcamps with the aim of supporting local development and take place in small villages, close knit communities, in the countryside, or in urban areas. A contribution of around €65 is required to cover administration costs and food and accommodation at the project.

Global Vision International
GVI's volunteer programme in Latvia is to a forward thinking orphanage that not only takes care of children when they are young but also prepares them for adulthood. The Children’s Village was founded in 1993 and, if you decide to do your voluntary work there, you will help to maintain the personal, family orientated atmosphere which thrives in the orphanage. Placements are for four to ten weeks and prices begin at a little over GBP£1000.

Mast International
The MAST Experience Abroad programme, from the University of Minnesota, provides qualified individuals the opportunity to travel to Estonia to gain practical hands on experience in agriculture, horticulture, agribusiness, forestry or related areas. This cross cultural experience living and working in another country helps young people develop a global perspective and a broader understanding of the world. Over 6000 trainees from more than 65 countries have participated in the MAST International programme. Applicants should be aged 18 to 30.
