SMILE
Society (Situational Management & Inter-Learning Establishment
Society) is a volunteer organization that welcomes international
volunteers and students to participate in welfare activities
for under privilege kids in India. SMILE have
two ‘Happy Home' Centers and ‘Street Children Welfare'
projects already established in Kolkata and every year run several
work camps where volunteers work with slum and street kids for
two to three weeks.
The SMILE Internship
Programmes are specially designed for international students
who wish to volunteer in their holidays. The programme runs
for 2 to 4 weeks and volunteers will stay with host families.
Eligibility:
Aged 16 to 30 years old. Basic English language is a must but
the most important quality is the ability to
give love and affection to needy kids.
Cost:
For Internship Programs (2 weeks):
Registration Fees: US$290
Participation Fees: US$275
Development Fees: US$25
Extra week(s): US$ 100 /week
Fees cover
food, accomodation and transportation. Volunteers pay their
own way to India.
Departure
Dates:
Twice a
month on the 1st and 16th.
