Details:
BUNAC's Volunteer Cambodia programme offers you the chance
to spend twelve weeks working on a project in Siem Reap.
BUNAC will liaise with their local representative to arrange
your placement which can vary depending on the skills
of the volunteer and the needs of the community at the
time of the programme.
Placements
are unpaid and last for 12 weeks with a three day welcome
orientation on arrival. Accommodation, in a local guest
house, is included as part of the placement and is covered
by the programme costs. However, volunteers will be responsible
for arranging their own meals.
Eligibility:
To apply to Volunteer Cambodia, you must be:
- a
current university level student, a graduate or a non-student
- aged
18+
- a
British or Irish citizen resident in the UK or Ireland
Previous
work abroad experience is preferred but not essential.
Cost:
The programme registration fee for Volunteer Cambodia is
currently £695. This covers the cost of the three
day arrival orientation, guest house accommodation on arrival,
programme literature, the support services of BUNAC and
the local host organisation for the duration of the programme,
placement and your accommodation whilst working.
Participants
also need to find the cost of the return flight (approximately
£800) and take out Insurance (currently £113
for three months coverage). You will also need at
least £600 in support funds to cover the cost of food
and local travel.
All
costs will be confirmed upon acceptance to the programme.
