Live, Work & Travel in Macedonia
Macedonia quietly slipped away from the former Yugoslavia in 1991 but couldn't shake off the 'former' tag quite so easily. Due to a dispute with Greece the country is rather clumsily named (in the UN at least) as The Former Yugoslav Republic of Macedonia. For travellers, Macedonia remains one of the last undiscovered countries in Europe and is well worth a visit. Ohrid, a UNESCO World Heritage site set on a sea like lake bordering Albania, must surely become a next big thing in the future, both as a travel and a property buying destination.
Teaching & TEFL in Macedonia
Quinn's World of TEFL has more information on teaching careers. Among the advice given is that finding work outside of the country is quite difficult which may be why ESL Base, our usual go to place for websites of English language schools abroad, had no listings for schools in Macedonia at the time of writing.
