You work in pairs but because the projects are
located close to each other there is every opportunity

understanding of your host community
"The
children at the orphanage have restored my faith
in humanity; despite their abuse, neglect and
poverty, they can love. It is one of life's
greatest lessons and one I will treasure for
the rest of my life."

WHO?
The majority of our volunteers are gap students
aged 18 to 23. However some of the placements
need older volunteers with a few years work
experience. Common sense, energy, enthusiasm
and a desire to help a humble community are
the most important qualifications. Outreach
International is a family run organisation based
in Somerset. We send groups of approximately
fifteen volunteers to a country at any one time.
HOW
LONG?
Our placements last for a minimum period of
three months and up to six months.

Outreach
International has projects on the Pacific coast

Fees
Project
costs are approximately £3100 for three
months. This includes flights, local transport,
language training, full medical, baggage, public
liability and private liability insurance, food,
accommodation and 24 hour in-country and UK
support. Outreach International provide plenty
of support with fund raising activities and

.....It's
creative, challenging and incredibly satisfying.
The experience is so out of this world that
I am trying to extend my project. I have learned
to spin and to weave traditional designs but
more importantly I have learned to live without
the trappings of western life.
