Sunseed
Desert Technology is a low tech research and experimentation
centre based in southern Spain. The focus
of the project is on desertification and it's effects
on society and the environment. Sunseed aims
to alleviate some of the problems caused by desertification
particularly in developing countries. Our main interests
are appropriate, small scale technology, tree nursery
techniques, dryland regeneration and organic gardening.
Job Details
We are currently recruiting for permanent staff
to run the following departments:-
Appropriate Technology
Bio Research
Organic Gardening
Sustainable Living & Community
Ideal candidates would have a relevant degree or
experience in one of the above and would be adaptable
to low impact communal living. Basic Spanish
would be an advantage, although this is not essential.
Staff will be given a one year contract, but this
can be extended upon agreement. Duties will
include supervision of student placements and people
on working holidays. Staff are only paid 'pocket
money' but food and lodging are provided.
