Rules of the road
Parisians, let's be honest here, drive like blind chimpanzies and pedestians should, under no circumstances, treat zebra crossings as they would in the UK. There pedestrians do not have the right of way until the lights change to the green flashing man and, according to some of the car drivers there, not even then.

Fill up the car
Keep up to date with petrol prices before crossing into France from Spain. As of June 2008, unleaded is over 25 cents cheaper per litre in Spain, while diesal is nearly 40 cents less. A list of European fuel prices is provided each month by the Irish AA
