Border tactics
Wear clean clothes, shave and try to look as respectable as possible when crossing borders or flying in to an airport. Never lose your temper and be polite. A round the world trip will involve many flights and border crossings and these simple tips should cut down the amount of times officialdom wants to go through your bags.
Snapping back
In some countries, be careful who and what you photograph. For instance, military bases in Turkey are a no no, and Chinese soldiers can be a bit touchy too. This also goes for normal people. Some just don't like having their picture taken and will snap back. Others, especially if in native dress around tourist sights will expect a small fee.
